Meet Phil's newest pipe, our Proto Voyager, fully equipped to help you blast off into your next journey. For three years, Phil has redesigned the Proto Pipe® Rocket and applied an artistic spin. Inspired by Sci-Fi classics, the Voyager boasts three updated features. The first is a wider, curved knurled collar on the stash pod that adds substance and grace to its appearance and also provides a more substantial grip to hold Poker in place. The second is his new Proton Poker which has a thicker, solid brass knurled handle that's easier to grip to remove and also adds  a solid new look. The third is a double-notched bottom lid that makes it easier to open against stubbornly sticky resin.

Of course, it keeps all the amazing features of the original Rocket. Its bowl is beautifully round and holds a larger smoking capacity than the Proto Classic. The swiveling top lid is shaped into a graceful crescent that cleverly makes it also function as a roach clip. The bottom tar trap has been transformed from a plug that pops out into a bottom lid that swivels like the top lid, making it super easy to clean. The collar around the Stash Pod, that holds the Poker in place, is completely hand-shaped and knurled for improved function, feel, and appearance. Finally, the finished Voyager gets brushed for a lustrous finish all over. No wonder it has become Phil’s personal pipe of choice when he smokes.

Care Instructions

To care for a Proto Pipe, regular maintenance is essential for longevity and smooth performance. Depending on usage, occasional spot cleaning or a thorough weekly cleaning will help prevent excessive buildup. Cleaning while the resin is still soft is much easier than waiting for it to harden. Use a pipe cleaner, isopropyl alcohol, and Q-tips to remove residue from the bowl, chamber, and mouthpiece. Disassemble the removable components, soak them in rubbing alcohol, and wipe out the tubes and bowl for a deeper clean. After cleaning, thoroughly rinse all parts with hot water to remove any remaining residue. Keeping your Proto Pipe well-maintained not only enhances performance but also preserves its classic look and function.

  • The Proton Poker:

The Proton Poker features a thicker, solid brass knurled handle, designed to provide a better grip for easy removal. The knurled texture enhances control, making it easier to maneuver and handle the poker, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience when disassembling and cleaning your Proto Pipe.

  • Stash Pod:

The collar on the stash tube is a wider, curved, knurled design that adds a sleek, sci-fi-inspired aesthetic to the Proto Pipe. Not only does it enhance the pipe's visual appeal, but it also gives it a more artistic and unique look, making it both functional and stylish.

Voyager; Sweet Pipe

I picked up this smooth smoker just a couple of months ago, and I'm giving it her first alcohol bath (thank you Richard and Rona for the cleaning 101 video.) It's been many years since I smoked, but now that it's legal I wanted a pipe that would make the smoke process pleasant and low maintenance. I ran an internet search and came across the LA Times article regarding the history and success of the Proto Pipe. I can say without hesitation that this is the finest pipe I've had the pleasure of owning. It's like the Swiss army knife of pipes. I especially love the stash chamber, and the fact that I can fill the bowl and slip the cover on so that all I need to do is open the cover when I'm ready and fire up my favorite smoke. I can really go on with the benefits of this pipe, but in a nutshell this is one fine pipe. Well made and will last a lifetime. Finally my brothers and sisters get one and have a nice bone. Peace!

Chamber needs sweeked

I have original and retro both chambers come loose easily. The slot in chamber is to big for pin on pipe to lock in. Other than that great pipe clean smoke!

Nice but smaller bowl

I don't want to be knocking the product, it's a solid proto pipe with an interesting design. But, its bowl is TINY y'all. If you want a bigger bowl than the trad proto, this ain't it.

I lost my first Proto on a Chairlift, night Skiing:(....

Ahh Such a tragic loss my Red eyed Countrymen. To this day, I still think about the time I lost my best friend who was made out of Brass Like C3P0. In a custom adhesive Leather 2 piece on either side of the bowl. Think left thumb and left forefinger Thermal Protection for those intense Safety Meetings.. that required more then One, but always a tight group if you catch my drift Man.
Anyhow My Precious lies somewhere in Timberline Mt Hood Oregon since 1989. I like to think as I use this New and Somehow better version. Deep in the future someone will find this pipe! and Use it. Still filled to this day with some early Kush or Skunk#1.( Thank You Rob my Ski Coach,.for teaching me what good Herb and skis can do). They would marvel at early Human cool Tech and wonder...........
